If your load is purely garden material, a dedicated green waste skip is the cheaper choice; mixing household rubbish into a green skip reclassifies it as general waste.
What can't go in — and where it goes instead
For safety and to meet Queensland landfill rules, hazardous items can't go in any skip — asbestos, tyres, wet paint and chemicals, gas bottles, batteries and liquid oils all need specialist disposal.
